How we work
You speak to the person who is going to arrive. That matters more than it sounds: it means the description of your door reaches the person choosing the tools, and the price you are given is the price given by the person doing the work.
Every job is quoted before it starts. If what we find is different from what was described, you hear about it and decide, rather than discovering it on the invoice.
Nothing is opened without proof that you are entitled to be inside. For rented and holiday properties that means confirmation from the owner, the agency or the manager as well as identification at the door.
Why English matters here
Altea's residents come from across northern Europe and its visitors stay for a week at a time. Discussing a failed multipoint gearbox in a second language at eleven at night helps nobody.
Calls, quotes, explanations and invoices are handled in English. Spanish too, when the community administrator, the landlord or the police report has to be part of the conversation.

What we will not do
A short list, stated plainly, because knowing what a trade does not do saves everybody a wasted journey.
- No key cutting and key duplication
- No spare keys of any kind
- No car keys: supply, replacement or programming
- No transponder and remote vehicle keys
- No vehicle ignition repairs
- No motorcycle and van keys
On vehicles we open doors when the keys are locked inside, and that is the entire service. We do not cut, replace, duplicate or program car keys.
We also will not sell you a lock you do not need. If your cylinder is stiff rather than failing, that is what you will be told, and cleaning it costs less than replacing it.
We do not keep customers' keys, and we do not hold spares for properties we have worked on.
